Opening batter Brian Bennett was delighted to contribute to the team’s win after his entertaining knock laid the foundation of Zimbabwe’s two-wicket victory against Pakistan in the third T20I at Queens Sports Club.

Bennett scored a classy 43 off just 35 deliveries as Zimbabwe chased down Pakistan’s score of 132 runs.

The 21-year-old rising star’s innings featured six fours and a six as he dominated the Pakistan bowling attack during his spell at the crease.

He believes the consolation win against Pakistan will be the perfect confidence boost the team needs ahead of the upcoming tour against Afghanistan at home.

“It’s nice to contribute to the team’s win. We got Afghanistan next week. It’s nice to take the win and some momentum into the next week,” Bennett said.

He added: I’m happy to bat wherever coach and captain wants. We are a young team as well so we are always learning on the game. Today it’s a good feeling and to finish off with a victory is very good.”
