Tennis star Courtney Lock lifted his first title of 2026 after winning the doubles competition at the Kunming Open in Anning, China on Saturday.
The 29-year-old Zimbabwean and his American partner Michael Zhu prevailed 7-6(7-4), 7-6(7-3) in a tightly contested final against the Chinese pair of Zijiang Yang and Zhan Zheng.
Playing on the outdoor clay courts at the Hot Springs Tennis Center, Lock and Zhu were dominant throughout the week, dropping just one set on their way to the title.
The triumph marked Lock’s first title since the 2024 season and his first without brother Benjamin Lock, who is currently sidelined through injury.
The Lock brothers, who also represent Zimbabwe in Davis Cup competition, enjoyed a memorable 2024 campaign together, winning four doubles titles.
Saturday’s victory in China was Courtney’s 21st career doubles title on the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour, dating back to his maiden triumph in Maputo in 2016.
