Celtic Urged to Sign Zimbabwean Forward Tawanda Maswanhise in January
Celtic have been urged to make a January move for in-form Zimbabwean forward Tawanda Maswanhise as the Scottish champions look to revive their Premiership title challenge.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton believes the Motherwell attacker would immediately improve the Hoops’ attacking options, with the club currently short of goals and trailing league leaders Hearts in the title race.
Maswanhise is currently the leading goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership and continues to enhance his reputation both at club and international level.
The 21-year-old is also fresh from an impressive performance for Zimbabwe against South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, where he caught the eye with his work rate and attacking threat.

Speaking on The Warm-Up Podcast, Sutton said the Zimbabwe international would be an upgrade on Celtic’s current strikers.
“If you said Maswanhise as a central striker at Celtic, he’s better than anything Celtic have got,” Sutton said.
Celtic failed to sign a recognised centre forward last summer and have since struggled, with Daizen Maeda off the boil and Johnny Kenny failing to cement his place.
With Martin O’Neill back in charge until the end of the season, Sutton has urged the Celtic board to act decisively in the final weeks of the transfer window.
“Celtic have £75–80 million in the bank. They have to gamble now,” he added.
Maswanhise has been one of Motherwell’s standout performers this season, and a move to Parkhead would represent a major milestone for Zimbabwean football.
