Zimbabwe international Tawanda Chirewa has been linked with a potential move to Championship side Sheffield United, according to transfer coverage by SportsBoom.com.

The 21-year-old winger, currently contracted to Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers, is reportedly among a trio of African talents being monitored by the Blades as they seek to reinforce their squad ahead of the winter transfer window.

Chirewa brings pace, directness and versatility across the attacking line, attributes honed during loan spells in the English Football League with Derby County and Huddersfield Town.

Sheffield United’s interest forms part of a broader recruitment strategy under manager Chris Wilder, who is keen to add players capable of coping with the demands of a gruelling Championship campaign.

While the move remains at the reporting stage and no official bid has been made, the speculation underlines Chirewa’s rising profile and growing appeal to clubs with promotion ambitions.

Internationally, Chirewa recently featured in all three of Zimbabwe’s group-stage matches against Egypt, Angola and South Africa at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The tournament marked his debut at a major international competition with the Warriors — an experience he embraced with pride.

“It’s a proud moment to represent the country, play for the badge with all you have and try to get results,” Chirewa said.

“It comes with a lot of experience and learning from the experienced guys who are part of the team. There is another different dimension of how things are done and I can say I have fully adjusted.”
