Chisora set to face MMA star Ngannou in Saudi Arabia

Francis Ngannou and Derek Chisora

London – Francis Ngannou could end up facing Derek Chisora on the same card as Anthony Joshua vs Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk over in Saudi Arabia.

Eddie Hearn says he has heard rumours that the crossover clash is in the works and that it may end up on the undercard of what is shaping up to be one of the best events in heavyweight boxing history.

“There are rumours for a third fight for that night in December which could be Ngannou against Chisora,” Hearn told Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour.

“I actually quite like that fight because I don’t see Francis being competitive against Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua, but more competitive against Chisora.”

Ngannou has been chasing a fight with the likes of Fury, Joshua and Wilder for his debut inside the squared circle.

But despite all three flirting with the idea of facing the former UFC heavyweight champion, their attention is fixed on fighting each other for now.

Joshua vs Wilder is close to be finalised for December with Hearn recently declaring that they are holding meetings in London next week to ‘close the deal’.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian promotional outfit Skills Challenge Promotions remain confident that they will get Usyk vs Fury over the line on the same card.

Ngannou vs Chisora appears to be the third fight targeted for the historic bill.

Chisora hasn’t fought since December when he suffered a one-sided beating at the hands of Fury while Ngannou has been out of action since retaining his UFC heavyweight title against Ciryl Gane in January.

‘The Predator’ went on to vacate the belt and leave the company earlier this year. He is now signed with the UFC’s rivals PFL.
