Galloway offered new Plymouth Argyle deal

Plymouth Argyle are continuing contract talks with Zimbabwe international defenders Brendan Galloway over a new contract offer ahead of next season.

Galloway’s current deal at the Pilgrims runs out this summer having helped the club remain in the Championship.

Plymouth Argyle’s director of football Neil Dewsnip believes the club’s success in retaining their Championship status will improve the chances of Galloway deciding to stay at Home Park.

Dewsnip briefly gave an indication about the future of Galloway after the season-ending 1-0 victory over Hull City at Home Park recently, which ensured Argyle’s Championship survival.

He said: “Obviously, we didn’t know what league we were going to be in. I respect the fact they wanted to wait to see where they would be so hopefully today is a positive way forward in that respect.”

Galloway has had a number of injury issues since first joining Argyle in the summer of 2021 and did not play this season until late November after a long-term absence, but the Zimbabwe international went on to make a total of 20 starts and nine substitute appearances between then and the end of the campaign.

He has reportedly attracted interest from several clubs in the Championship if he decides not to remain at Plymouth Argyle.
