South Africa-based Zimbabwean professional golfer Stuart Krog continued his impressive form on the 2025/26 Sunshine Tour, claiming a superb fourth-place finish at the South African PGA Championship at St Francis Links in St Francis Bay.
Krog fired rounds of 72, 68, 69 and 67 to close on 12-under-par 276, finishing just two shots behind South Africa’s Deon Germishuys, who clinched the prestigious title. Fellow South Africans Hennie du Plessis and Samuel Simpson tied for second on 13-under.
Krog’s top-four finish marks his third top-10 of the season, lifting him to 21st on the Sunshine Tour Order of Merit and strengthening his status as one of Zimbabwe’s most consistent performers on tour.
The result also earned Krog a coveted spot in the DP World Tour co-sanctioned 2025 Alfred Dunhill Championship, scheduled for December 11–14 at Royal Johannesburg Golf Club. The event features one of the strongest fields on the Southern African circuit, giving Krog another major opportunity to test himself against elite competition.
Reflecting on his performance, Krog said he was thrilled to contend deep into the final round at one of his favourite venues.
“Awesome week at the SA PGA Championship. It was so much fun being in the mix coming down the stretch at one of my favourite venues on the Sunshine Tour,” he shared on Instagram.
“With the solo fourth, I’m happy to have played myself into the Alfred Dunhill Championship next week.”
Krog will now turn his attention to Johannesburg as he prepares for one of the biggest events of his season.
