Liverpool’s Zimbabwean teenage starlet Isaac Mabaya has earned his maiden call-up to the England Under-19 squad ahead of their 2022-23 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying matches which get underway next week.
The 17-year-old versatile player has been on a steady rise after making his first team debut at Liverpool during their pre-season tour of Asia.
Mabaya caught the eye with some solid performances for Liverpool’s senior squad in pre-season matches against Manchester United, Crystal Palace and Red Bull Salzburg.
Since his involvement during the preseason, Mabaya has been involved in the senior training set-up this season as he continues to make significant strides at the English football giants.

Mabaya is one of the four Reds players who will join the England under-19s, together with, Luke Chambers, Lee Jonas and Oakley Cannonier.
England’s Under-19 squad will face Georgia, Montenegro and hosts Denmark as part of their 2022-23 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualifying group.
The latest call-up comes after Mabaya scored on his England Under-18 debut in a 2-3 win against Sweden in March.
The Preston-born who can play as a midfielder or at right-back and is eligible to play for both Zimbabwe and England at senior international level.
Mabaya is one of the several talented youngsters born or bred overseas being tracked by the Zimbabwe Warriors technical team in the hope of convincing them to represent Zimbabwe at senior international level.
