Mudariki relishing African Games debut with Cheetahs 

Hilton Mudariki will lead the Zimbabwe Goshawks in the Mzansi Challenge

Zimbabwe sevens rugby team vice-captain, Hilton Mudariki is relishing the opportunity to represent the country at the African Games in Ghana.

Mudariki is one of the most experienced players in the Cheetahs squad which will feature in the continental sporting extravaganza and has promised to give his all in the service for the nation.

“This is a momentous occasion and I will do my utmost to honour the trust that has been placed in me,” he said.

“I would like to thank all those who have helped me reach this point, and I look forward to the opportunity to represent my country and do my best.

“Determination and commitment will be my driving forces, and I will give it my all.”

Rugby Sevens is making its debut at the African Games in Accra.

Herbert Mensah, President of Rugby Africa, said:

“It is with great pride that I stand here as rugby takes its rightful place in the African Games for the first time,” he said.

“This is a historic moment for our sport and for the continent as a whole.

“The African Games are a testament to our continent’s commitment to sport.

“It’s a platform where our athletes can shine, our nations can unite, and our shared passion for the game can be celebrated on a grand scale.”
