Rising fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani is the only Zimbabwean player to enter the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction that will take place on 12 and 13 February in Bengaluru.
A total of 590 players will be up for sale at the two-day auction as they look to be picked up by one of the 10 franchises.
Muzarabani who is currently with the Multan Sultans in the on-going Pakistan Super League (PSL) is the only Chevrons player on the list of hopefuls.
After a stint on the English County scene, the 25 year-old fast bowler has enjoyed a solid return to international cricket with the Chevrons. His management team believes he stands a very good chance of attracting bidders at the upcoming IPL auction.
If he finds takers during the auction, Muzarabani would become the fourth Zimbabwean after Tatenda Taibu, Ray Price and Brendan Taylor to be involved with the Indian Premier League.
Taibu played for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008, while off-spinner Price was with the same team in 2011.
Taylor, who was last week handed a three and a half year ban from the game on corruption and doping charges by the International Cricket Council (ICC) was signed by Sunrisers Hydrebard in 2015 but never played a single match for the franchise.
