Chevrons skipper Sikandar Raza became the first Zimbabwean to score 2000 runs in T20Is in the fourth encounter against India at Harare Sports Club on Saturday to further cement his legendary status.

The veteran allrounder scored 46 off 28 deliveries to steer Zimbabwe to a modest 152 for seven in their allotted overs after being sent to bat first.

In the process Raza surpassed the 2000 run mark in only his 90th match, becoming the first cricket player from the Southern African nation to achieve that feat.

The Pakistan-born star also became only the fifth player in international cricket to have taken 50 wickets and scored over 2000 runs.

He joins an elite list of allrounders which includes Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, Muhammad Nabi from Afghanistan Virandeep Singh from Malaysia and Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez.
