Sasha Chimedza secures clean sweep at Tennis Foundation Ghana Open

Zimbabwe’s leading female junior tennis player Sasha Chimedza swept the board at the Tennis Foundation Ghana Open ITF J60 Accra, winning both the girls singles and doubles titles.

Chimedza, who is regarded as one of the top young players on the continent was seeded first in the tournament which attracted a strong field.

And she lived up to her billing as she capped off a memorable week by powering to a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Great Britain’s Alisha Ndukwu in the girls singles final.

Earlier Chimedza partnered Lamiss Houas of Tunisia to retained their doubles championship by beating Sisu Tomegah of Ghana and Iriela Rajaobelina of Madagascar 6-3, 6-3.
