Scott Vincent well poised for LIV Golf League incentive

Zimbabwe’s leading professional golfer Scott Vincent is in pole position to finish top of the Asian Tour International Series Order of Merit which will earn an exemption for the lucrative 2023 LIV Golf Invitational season.

Vincent occupies top spot on the Order Merit List, having amassed earnings of US$ 493,125 from the first six events of the seven-leg schedule.

The Zimbabwean star won the inaugural International Series title in Newcastle, England early this year.

It was his second victory in two weeks as he also claimed the Gate Way To The Open Mizuno Open on the Japan Golf Tour, which secured him a place in The Open Championship for his first Major.

Since then, Vincent has been a consistent performer in the International Series schedule and sits atop the Order of Merit ahead of American Sihwan Kim, who is in second with winnings of $US424,883.

Vincent will be eager to maintain his good form ahead of the season-ending International Series event, the BNI Indonesian Masters in the first week of December with the winner of Order of Merit poised to experience a career-transforming opportunity.

The winner of the series Order of Merit will get a shot at earning a multimillion-dollar reward in the form of an exemption into the 14-stop LIV Golf League next year.

With a new event already announced for Australia, the 48-player circuit is expected to expand its global footprint in 2023, with stops in North America, Latin America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Europe. Tournaments will be broadcast across the globe and showcase an international field of headline and next-generation talent for a worldwide audience.

The International Series is a ground-breaking series of events launched this year with prize purses of $US1.5million and above played across seven countries: Thailand, England, Singapore, Korea, Morocco, Egypt and Indonesia.
