But it is the news of the Vincent brothers’ participation that will add more excitement to the competition which has not been won by a Zimbabwean golfer for over two decades.

And they confirmed that Scott Vincent and Kieran Vincent will be participating in the Zim Open,” tournament director Michael Mahachi revealed at the launch press briefing.

A colorful ceremony was held at the picturesque Royal Harare Golf Club to mark the launch of the FBC Zim Open 2024

“This is the first time that we are having a strong contingent of Zimbabwean players at the event so Scott and Kieran will be traveling from Sentosa in Singapore on May 5 to be part of the Zim Open.

“We are privileged to have Scott and Kieran participating in this event. We are also going to be represented by Robson Chinhoi who won the Zanaco Open last year. The other two players who will be representing Zimbabwe are Ben Follett-Smith and Stuart Krog. We expect these to give good competition to the international field that we are expecting,” Mahachi said.

The 2021 Zim Open champion Darren Fichardt from South Africa who plays on the DP World Tour and the Sunshinehe  Tours will take part in the event.

The Vincent brothers are currently playing in the lucrative LIV Golf League.

Kieran Vincent flew the country’s flag with distinction at the FBC Zimbabwe Open last year after he tied for sixth place.

He recovered from a slow start tk finish on 3-under par, eight strokes behind Neil Schietekat.

Schietekat is now the 11th successive South African winner of the FBC Zimbabwe Open since the tournament’s return on the Sunshine Tour schedule in 2010.
