Zimbabwe’s Scott Vincent closed the LIV Golf New York tournament with his best round of the week to finish tied for third at Trump National Bedminster in New Jersey on Sunday.
Vincent carded a bogey-free five-under-par 66 in the final round to finish on nine-under after 72 holes.
The Zimbabwe golf star had opened with rounds of 69, 68 and 72 before producing his lowest score of the tournament in the final round.
The result gives Vincent his first top-three finish of the LIV Golf season and his third top-five finish as he continues his strong return to form.
Vincent finished seven shots behind Chilean winner Joaquin Niemann, who closed with a two-under 69 to finish on 16-under and claim his ninth LIV Golf individual title.
American Harold Varner III was second on 13-under, while Vincent shared third with England’s Lee Westwood.
Niemann led the tournament from the opening round and maintained his advantage to secure victory by three shots.
For Vincent, the result provides further evidence of his progress during a season in which he has been one of the more consistent performers on his return to the LIV Golf circuit.
Elsewhere, Jon Rahm secured his third consecutive LIV Golf individual season title despite finishing tied for 41st after a closing 76.
The Spaniard holds an unassailable 219-point lead over American Bryson DeChambeau with one individual event remaining in Indianapolis.
Rahm has won twice this season, in Hong Kong and Mexico, and has also recorded four runner-up finishes.
The LIV Golf season concludes with the team championship in Michigan from August 27-30.
