Zimbabwe international defender Munashe Garan’anga’s profile in European football continue to rise following reports that he is closing in on a big money move to Danish giants FC Copenhagen on a lucrative long term deal.

The 23-year-old made an instant impact at Belgian top-flight side KV Mechelen after joining the club from Moldovan side FC Sheriff Tiraspol six months ago.

The Harare-born star made 16 appearances in the Belgian top-flight league after joining midway through the campaign.

His solid performances at the heart of KV Mechelen’s defence reportedly caught the attention of several European clubs
including Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach and Spanish side Real Betis.

However Garan’anga has opted for an adventure at Copenhagen.

The Danish top club had reportedly had him in their sights for a long time and decided to push through.

Garanaga is set to travel to Denmark on Monday for his media before signing a long term contract until 2028.

The Zimbabwe international is set to earn KV Mechelen around 4million euros plus a million euros bonus, about ten times what they paid for him in January.
