Warriors’ fullback Jordan Zemura is set to miss Championship side Bournemouth’s trip to Derby County on Sunday as he remains on the treatment table after suffering an ankle injury late last month.
The 22-year-old star was injured in a 2-0 away win to Reading on October 30, going on to miss ties against Preston and Swansea before the international break.
It looks like Zemura will miss a few more matches as he recuperates from the injury.
Zemura has been one of the top performers for the table-toppers this season having featured 15 times this season and scoring three goals.
Cherries coach Scott Parker gave a grim update on the recovery of his star defender.
“As for Jordan, he’s still got a bit of an issue. He’s immobilised in a boot at the moment,” the former England international told journalists on Friday.
“Hopefully he comes out of that in the next couple of days and then we can paint a picture of how we go from there,” he added.
Other players who will miss the Sunday match are another fullback Adam Smith and central midfielder Jefferson Lerma who got injured during the international break playing for Colombia.
Zemura made his debut for Bournemouth on September 15, 2020, in an EFL Cup tie against Crystal Palace at the Vitality Stadium while his first league start for the club was a season opener against West Brom in August.
An impressive start to the 2021/22 season saw Zemura win the club’s Player of the Month award for August while he also scooped the Goal of the Month for October a fortnight ago.
