The Zambezi Eagles claimed their first win at the Telkom Netball League following a 56-48 victory against the Limpopo Baobabs 56-48 at the Sun City Superbowl in South Africa.
Making their debut in this year’s event the Zimbabwean outfit lost their first match 51- 46 to North West Flames on Saturday before another 61-40 defeat to Golden Fireballs on Sunday.
After a difficult start to their campaign, the Eagles illustrated the full extent of their development as they got over the line against the Boababs.

The Zimbabwean franchise remained composed from start to finish and were able to increasingly frustrate Boaba as the contest went on.Zambezi Eagles got off to a good start, taking a seven-goal lead in the first quarter, but allowed the Baobabs to come from behind in the second quarter and lead 29-27 going into halftime.
However, the Zambezi Eagles stepped up in the third and fourth quarters, in a closely contested game, to claim their first win at the ongoing competition.

They took the third quarter 44-37 and maintained the upper hand until the final whistle.
Lesibane Munjanji-Karaso was named Player of the Match.
Zambezi Eagles play Jaguars at 7pm on Tuesday before matches against Aloes, Stings and Crinums conclude their Power Week 1 fixtures in the competition.
