Zim starlet Manyarara to make first team debut for Racing 92

Former Zimbabwe Under-20 rugby star Shingi Manyarara is set to make his debut in the French Top 14 after being named in the Racing 92 starting line up for their away tie against La Rochelle at the Stade Marcel Deflandre.

The 21-year-old highly-gifted back-rower was signed by French Top 14 club Racing 92 two years ago on a three-year deal after undergoing trials with the Paris club.

Manyarara has over the last couple of seasons gained experience with the club’s academy side and is finally set to get a taste of first team action today when he starts at open-side flank.

It’s a big breakthrough for the big loose forward, who is known for his power, speed and line breaks and he will be relishing the opportunity to showcase his skills af the top level.

Manyarara, who hails from Mutare initially attended Hillcrest College in the Zimbabwean eastern border city before receiving a bursary to complete his senior school at Kingswood College in South Africa.

He left the South African school with Honours for rugby before his breakthrough move to France.

Prior to his move to France, Manyarara represented Zimbabwe at the 2033 World Under-20 Rugby Trophy in Kenya, helping the Junior Sables to a fifth place finish.
