Zimbabwe’s national women’s cricket team is in Ireland for a white-ball tour, set to begin on Sunday, as they intensify preparations for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Division One.
The squad departed Zimbabwe on Wednesday night for the five-match series.
The tour kicks off with three T20 Internationals in Dublin on July 20, 22, and 23.
Following the T20Is, they play two One-Day Internationals in Belfast on July 26 and 28.
Veteran batter Chipo Mugeri-Tiripano will lead the 15-member squad, which blends experienced players with exciting new talent.
The team includes familiar faces like wicketkeeper-batters Modester Mupachikwa and Chiedza Dhururu, all-rounder Loreen Tshuma, and left-arm seamer Nomvelo Sibanda.
Adding fresh energy to the team are rising stars such as Kelis Ndhlovu and Beloved Biza, alongside other emerging players keen to make their mark internationally.
This tour to Ireland is the Zimbabwe Women’s first since their landmark visit to the United States in April.
It’s a crucial part of their build-up for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Division One, scheduled to take place in Namibia from August 31 to September 6.
