Serie A giants AS Roma are interested in signing Zimbabwe international Jordan Zemura, according to the Italian daily newspaper Leggo.

Zemura is currently in his second season at Udinese, with his current deal set to rub until the summer of 2027.

According to Leggo, Roma are monitoring the Zimbabwe international with the aim of signing him in this current transfer season.

The club’ sporting director Roma’s technical director Ghisolfi has reportedly identified Zemura as a backup for Spanish defender Angelino in the left-back position.

Roma’s reported interest in Zemura comes after the London-born Zimbabwe international was was last month linked with interest from AC Milan.

Reports suggested that the Rossoneri are also targeting the player as a back up option for Theo Hernandez.

The 25-year-old former Bournemouth defender has been enjoying a solid season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in 18 matches for the Bianconeri across both the league and Coppa Italia.

Throughout the current season, Zemura has alternated in the position of left wing-back in a five-man midfield alongside Ivory Coast international Hassane Kamara, a role he would also fulfill under Claudio Ranieri’s leadership at Roma.

After overcoming a difficult debut season in Italy, Zemura’s influence at the club has grown this season with the Zimbabwean starting in five of the last eight league matches for mid-table Udinese.

He was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Atalanta but cod bounce back in the side during Monday’s trip to Lombardy to face Como.
