Former Leicestershire County Cricket Club player Nick Welch is currently the leading run scorer in Zimbabwe Cricket ‘s premier first class competition the LoganCup with 544 runs in eight innings for log leaders Mountaineers.
The 26-year-old power-hitting top-order batsman has been putting his hands up for national selection with some consistent performances, averaging 68 in red ball cricket and 41 runs in the Pro50 Championship.
The Mountaineers star has scored 544 runs in four matches so far, more than second-placed Ben Curran, who has o far amassed 519 runs in five matches.

Zimbabwe’s Test captain Craig Ervine is third on the top run scorers list with 413 runs in three matches for Eagles.
Welch made his debut for Zimbabwe in a T20I match against Namibia in October 2023.
He will be hoping that his consistency has finally caught the eye of Zimbabwe Cricket’s hard-to-please selection panel and finally make his bow in the longer format of the game during next month’s incoming tour by Ireland.
The gifted cricketer represented Zimbabwe at the Under-17 level before moving to England.
He made his First-Class debut for Eagles at just 15 in 2014, showcasing his early promise.
