Teenage amateur golfer Tanaka Chatora and veteran female golfer Batsirai Tilowakuti emerged victors in the Zimbabwe Golf Association season opening 2025 Dugmore Trophy at Bulawayo Golf Club on Sunday.
Chatora, who is likely to move to Weatherford College later this year following a verbal commitment late last year, managed to successfully defend his title with scores 76, 69 and 77 for a 222 gross total.
The 17-year-old enjoyed a strong victory over Kelvin Muchenje and Keegan Shutt who grossed 223 to tie for second place.

Muchenje carded 77, 72 and 74 in 54 holes while Shutt, buoyed by a brilliant performance at the Junior Orange Bowl in the US at the start of the year, could only manage 79 71 and 73.
Bulawayo Country Club’s Barry Painting settled for fourth place 79 77 72 for a 228 score while Elton Zulu completed the top five on 230 after rounds of 79 75 and 76.
South Africa based young golfer Tawana Mangoma shot 75 77 and 79 to finish sixth on 232 gross total.
In the women category, Tilowakuti won by a massive 31 strokes after signing for 83 77 and 84 to gross 244 with second place Sharmain Mhundwa grossing 275.
Only three ladies took part in the tournament with Rosebud Musakasa finishing last on 299 gross score.
