Zimbabwe’s leading professional golfer Scott Vincent achieved his first top ten finish of the New Year after he tied for eighth at the Smart Infinity Philippine Open on Sunday.
Vincent shot a final round 69 at the Masters Course at Manila Southwoods Golf & Country Club to finish the tournament on a total of six-under par 264.
He was five shots behind winner Julien Sale from France, who made history on the Asian Tour by becoming the first member ever to win on his debut.

On Sunday, the Frenchman delivered a spectacular five-under-par 65 in the final round to claim victory on 11-under.
For Vincent it was a solid finish after the Zimbabwean star had earlier carded 69, 70 and 66 in the first three rounds to put himself in contention for the title going into the final round.
After his solid start to the season, Vincent’s will be aiming to continue his good form when the Asian Tour heads to the International Series India presented by DLF next week.
The US$2 million event is being played at DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram at the outskirts of the capital New Delhi.
