English County Championship Derby County have cut short the loan stay of Wolves attacking midfielder Tawanda Chirewa.
The 21-year-old Zimbabwe international moved to Pride Park from the Premier League side on a season-long deal last summer, but made just six appearances in all competitions in his near five-month stay with the Rams.
“Tawanda Chirewa has returned to parent club Wolverhampton Wanderers after spending the first half of the 2024/25 campaign with Derby County.
“The 21-year-old Zimbabwe international forward initially linked up with the Rams back in August on a season-long loan from the Premier League side.
“Derby have opted to exercise the right to end the loan agreement during the current transfer window,” said the Championship club on its website.
“Derby County would like to wish Tawanda every success in the future and for his efforts during his time with the club,” the club added.
Chirewa is one of the promising youngsters at Wolves where he made his English Premier League debut last season in January against Brighton & Hove.
