Dominant Zimbabwe win the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier

Zimbabwe maintained their position as the leading team on the continent (excluding South Africa) after beating Uganda by six wickets in the final to win the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in Entebe on Sunday.

Spinner Precious Marange was the star of the show with a memorable hat-trick as Zimbabwe dismissed Uganda for 79 before cruising to the target for the loss of just four wickets inside 14.4 overs.

Following up on consecutive Player of the Match accolades in the last two previous matches, Marange captured four wickets in the penultimate over of the innings to finisb with remarkable bowling figures of 5 for 7 in four overs.

Marange, who is also a national women’s rugby team player was named the player of the tournament.

Both Zimbabwe and Uganda will represent the continent at the ICC T20 WorldCup Global Qualifier which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates early next year.
