Brendan Galloway put one of his best individual performances of the season to help Championship strugglers Plymouth pull off a major FA Cup upset with a 1-0 victory at Premier League Brentford.
Morgan Whittaker’s stunning late goal was enough to secure the much needed victory for Plymouth, who sit bottom of the second-tier having not recorded a victory since November 5.
Galloway played 81 minutes as he put on a solid defensive shift which should have certainty impressed Plymouth Argyle’s new boss Miron Muslic, who watching on from the stands at the Gtech Community Stadium, following Wayne Rooney’s sacking.
The Zimbabwe international defender’s impressive show in the FA Cup comes after he was named in the English Championship Team of the Week after starring in his side’s goalless draw against Stoke City.
Galloway first joined the Pilgrims in the summer of 2021 and although his time at Home Park has been disrupted by injuries he has also experienced a lot of good times, most notably the 2022/23 League One title triumph.
