Zimbabwe international Tino Kadewere has been ruled out for the rest of the year after yet another setback in what has been an injury plagued season for the FC Nantes forward.

Kadewere, who has not featured for FC Nantes since November 3, is struggling to recover from his quadriceps injury, and had another scare last week after being diagnosed with gastroenteritis.

FC Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré revealed ahead of his side’s 4-1 loss at Stade Brestois on Sunday that Kadewere was not expected to make a full recovery until the New Year.

“His year is over,” concluded Antoine Kombouaré as cited by Ouest-France, when asked when the Zimbabwean star was expected to return to action.

Prior to his omission from the matchday squad for Sunday’s encounter, the Zimbabwe international had already missed the matches against Lens, Le Havre and PSG.

The 28-year-old forward has been restricted to just eight appearances in Ligue 1 this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists.

Kadewere also missed Zimbabwe’s successful qualification campaign for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
