Zimbabwean golfer Kieran Vincent continued his solid start to the season on the DP World Tour with a brilliant sixth place finish in the Joburg Open.
Vincent ,who earned his place in the field due to his maiden Sunshine Tour victory claim at the Kit Kat Cash & Carry Pro-Am last season, went into the final round six shots behind South Africa’s Shaun Norris on 14-under par at Houghton Golf Club in the South African capital.
After carding rounds of 66, 69 and 67 in the opening three rounds, Kieran finished his campaign with another solid round of five-under 67 to finish on 11-under par 269.
The gifted Zimbabwe finished just three shots outside a playoff that saw Scotland’s Calum Hill deny the South African duo of Norris and Jacques Kruyswijk a memorable home victory.
Hill shot a magnificent eight-under-par final round of 62 and prevailed after a three-man play-off to win the Joburg Open.
For Vincent it was his best finish on the DP World Tour this season as he followed up on his tie for position 25 at the SA Open Championship two weeks ago.
The 27-year-old rising Zimbabwean star has looked solid on his return to the course since his relegation from LIV Golf at the end of 2024 .
Vincent lost his slot on the LIV setup, having finished in the drop zone alongside Bubba Watson, Branden Grace Kalle Samooja, and his brother Scott.
The Zimbabwean initially earned his place in the Saudi-backed league after earning one of three promotion spots at the qualifier a year earlier.
However it proved to be a difficult first season with the Saudi-backed league for Vincent, who ended the campaign 54 in the individual standings, with his best performance a tied-18th finish at LIV Nashville.
The relegation from the LIV circuit has not had any impact on Kieran Vincent’s confidence as he appears to be regaining his best form.
In addition to featuring on the DP World Tour, Kieran will also feature on the Asian Tour and the International Series, which could provide him with a pathway back to the LIV circuit.
