Zimbabwe have recalled all-rounder Wessly Madhevere and handed wicketkeeper-batter Tafadzwa Tsiga his maiden Twenty20 International call-up after naming a 15-man squad for this month’s three-match home series against India.

Clive Madande, Tashinga Musekiwa and fast bowler Tinotenda Maposa have been left out following Zimbabwe’s 2-1 T20 series defeat to Bangladesh.

Fast bowler Newman Nyamhuri returns after recovering from injury, while Tanaka Chivanga, who was initially drafted in as his replacement, has retained his place in the squad.

Milton Shumba has also kept his place despite a difficult series against Bangladesh, while opening batter Ben Curran remains in the squad after not featuring in any of the three T20 internationals.

There is again no place for Jonathan Campbell despite his impressive domestic form, with the all-rounder finishing among the leading run-scorers in the national T20 competition.

Captain Sikandar Raza will lead Zimbabwe against the reigning ICC Men’s T20 World Cup champions, with the series scheduled for 23, 25 and 26 July at Harare Sports Club.

Zimbabwe head into the series after a mixed home campaign against Bangladesh, having won the one-off Test and the One-Day International series 2-1 before losing the T20 series by the same margin.

Zimbabwe squad: Sikandar Raza (captain), Brian Bennett, Ryan Burl, Tanaka Chivanga, Ben Curran, Brad Evans, Wessly Madhevere, Tadiwanashe Marumani, Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani, Dion Myers, Richard Ngarava, Newman Nyamhuri, Milton Shumba, Tafadzwa Tsiga.
