Former Zimbabwe senior men’s football team captain Kaizer Knowledge Musona has joined Saudi Pro League side Al Akhdoud after parting ways with Al Riyadh.
Musona’s one-year contract with Al Riyadh lapsed on 31 July when the 2023/24 season ended.
Before Al Riyadh, he had been on the books of Al Tai for two years, between July 2021 and July 2023.
During his time at Al Tai, he carved a niche as a dead ball specialist and assist master in the Saudi league.
Last season, he managed four goals in 18 appearances.
After not agreeing a new contract with Al Riyadh at the conclusion of last season, Al-Akhdoud quickly pounced to sign Musona ahead of the 2024/25 Saudi Pro League.
Further details of his contract have not been revealed. But Al-Akhdoud announced the Zimbabwean as their new player on X [formerly Twitter].
Speaking after signing the contract: Musona said: “I’m happy to join the club and I’m hoping to have a great season together.”
He will wear jersey number 11. As such, Al-Akhdoud become his third club in the Saudi Pro League having played for Al Tai and Al Riyadh.
