South African football giants Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of Zimbabwe international winger Daniel Msendami from Marumo Gallants.

The 24-year-old earned widespread recognition following his impressive performances for the Warriors at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where Zimbabwe exited at the group stages.

Msendami featured prominently during the tournament, starting in the 2–1 loss to Egypt, sitting out the 1–1 draw against Angola, before returning to the starting line-up in the 3–2 defeat to South Africa.

A product of Bulawayo giants Highlanders, Msendami moved on to ply his trade in Botswana before securing a switch to South Africa with Marumo Gallants.

He made 33 appearances across all competitions for Gallants last season, contributing three goals and three assists.

His consistent displays sparked speculation over a potential big move, with Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates reportedly leading the race for his signature.

While a transfer failed to materialise at the time, Pirates have now moved decis3ively to land the highly-rated winger.

In the ongoing 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign, Msendami featured 16 times for Gallants, scoring once, before sealing his move to the Buccaneers.

The switch to Orlando Pirates marks a significant step in Msendami’s career and offers him an opportunity to compete at the highest level of club football on the continent, while strengthening Zimbabwe’s growing representation in South Africa’s top flight.
