Zimbabwe Warriors midfielder Marshall Munetsi is set to return to French football after Wolverhampton Wanderers reached an agreement with Ligue 1 side Paris FC for his loan move.

The 29-year-old joined Wolves last winter from Stade de Reims on a three-and-a-half-year contract, with the Premier League club reportedly paying significant compensation to secure his services on deadline day.

Munetsi initially made a positive impression at Molineux, featuring in 14 Premier League matches during the second half of last season and contributing directly to three goals.

During that spell, the versatile midfielder won seven matches under then-head coach Vitor Pereira. However, Pereira was later dismissed following a poor start to the current campaign.

Despite Wolves enjoying an upturn in form under new manager Rob Edwards — who has kept the club unbeaten since the start of 2026, including a 3-0 league win over West Ham United and draws against Everton and Manchester United — Munetsi has fallen down the pecking order.

He was also absent as Wolves thrashed Shrewsbury Town 6-1 in the FA Cup.

Reports last month suggested the Zimbabwe international was not part of Edwards’ long-term plans, with interest emerging from French clubs.

That interest has now materialised, with Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri confirming that Wolves and Paris FC have reached an agreement.

Munetsi is expected to join the Paris-based club on an initial loan deal, with an option to buy included.

Paris FC are currently four points above the Ligue 1 relegation zone and are looking to bolster their squad as they battle to secure top-flight survival.

A return to France will see Munetsi re-enter familiar territory, having made an impressive 148 Ligue 1 appearances during a six-year stint at Reims.

The move could provide the Warriors midfielder with valuable regular game time as he looks to revive his club career.
