Zimbabwe star Sikandar Raza has been snapped up by the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for the 2024 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The 2024 edition of the CPL is set to run from August 30 to October 7 while the competition’s draft will take place on July 6.

Raza’s new team will open their campaign against St Lucia Kings on September 1 in Basseterre.

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots moved quickly to secure Raza’s services after he was released by the St Lucia Kings.

The 2021 CPL champions also secured the services of Sri Lanka spin partner Wanindu Hasaranga and the slingy fast bowler Nuwan Thushara as well as the South African batting pair of Tristan Stubbs and Rilee Rossouw.

The club has four remaining spots to be filled at the CPL draft in July.

Raza led the St Lucia Kings during their campaign last season after taking over the captaincy from South African stalwart Faf du Plessis, whose participation was cut short by injury.

The 38-year-old allrounder is currently taking part in the 2024 Vitality Blast T20 for Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.

The Patriots had finished at the bottom of the table in the 2023 edition with just one victory in 10 matches.
