Zimbabwean golf star Kieran Vincent has attributed Legion XIII GC’s sucess in the LIV Golf League this season to the positive environment in the teams changing room.
Vincent’s sentiments came after Legion XIII GC captured their third team title of the season at the LIV Golf Nashville which which ended on Sunday at The Grove in Tennessee.
Legion XIII GC capped off a dominant week which saw Englishman Tyrrell Hatton claiming the individual title.
The gifted Zimbabwean’s team would also go on to top the team rankings by five strokes which meant he together with his teammates Hatton, Jon Rahm and Caleb Surrat shared another three million pay-out to add to their earnings from the individual competition.
Vincent credits the team spirit within the Legion XIII GC camp for the success they have enjoyed on the LIV Golf League circuit this season.
“We are almost family here,” said an elatedKieran Vincent following his team’s third win of 2024.
Kieran Vincent, who finished tied for 18th position on six-under-par after a level par final round, was especially appreciative of his skipper, Jon Rahm, who led the team to victory by finishing tied for third position despite playing through injury.
“Jon, with probably half a foot still being able to dominate the way that he does, just walking around in HOKAs this week. You’re not going to see that very often.”
The Spanish former world number one ranked golfer suffered an injury between his toes which subsequently led to an infection and a withdrawal from the Houston event.
He was also forced to pull out of the 2024 U.S. Open, making Nashville his comeback tournament amid recovery.
Vincent also reserved some praises for his teammate Tyrrell after his victory in the individual competition.
“I think most of us wanted this win for Tyrrell more than I think even he might have,” confessed Vincent as he alluded to Tyrrell Hatton’s win at Nashville.
He topped the scoreboard with figures of 65-64-65 helping him card a 19-under overall to win by a whopping six strokes.
He also praised the champ for being “one of the best players both on and off the course,” while praising his talent and demeanor.
Vincent also didn’t shy away from complimenting his teammate Caleb Surrat.
He said: “Caleb coming out in front of his home crowd and not having his best stuff but still beating after the field shows what a caliber of player he is.”
Surrat finished at tied for 25th with an overall score of five-under.
