Zimbabwe international Jordan Zemura says he is “100% committed” to helping Watford enjoy a successful season after completing a season-long loan move from Italian side Udinese.
The 26-year-old left-back returns to English football after three seasons in Serie A, having joined Udinese from Bournemouth in 2023. He will spend the 2026/27 campaign at Vicarage Road after the two clubs agreed a loan deal.
Speaking after the move was confirmed, Zemura said the opportunity to return home and play in front of family and friends made the switch even more special.
“Happy to be here. Happy to commit to this team and colours and the fans. Let’s make it a special season, 100% committed,” Zemura wrote on social media.
“Wishing my team-mates and Udinese all the best for the season! Continue all the good things, I’ll be watching from afar.
“Finally can’t describe the feeling of being back in England. Back in London, back playing in front of my family and friends.
“Also back in the culture. Back in the mix.
“No better league to go and show what I’m about. Up The Hornets.”
Zemura, who has won 22 caps for Zimbabwe, brings significant Championship experience after helping Bournemouth secure promotion to the Premier League in the 2021/22 season before featuring regularly in the top flight the following campaign.
Born in Lambeth, the Zimbabwe defender came through the youth systems at Queens Park Rangers and Charlton Athletic before making his breakthrough at Bournemouth.
Watford’s group technical director Gian Luca Nani believes Zemura’s experience in both England and Italy will strengthen the squad.
“Zemura is a player with key experience in the Championship with Bournemouth,” Nani said.
“He is a full-back of excellent technique and quality, capable of contributing very effectively to the attacking phase. His experience in Serie A has further improved him defensively.
“He brings experience, quality and a winning mentality. We are really happy to have him at Watford.”
For Zimbabwe, the move offers Zemura the chance to play regular football in one of Europe’s most competitive second-tier leagues as he looks to remain a key figure for the Warriors ahead of their upcoming international commitments.
