Rising Zimbabwe golfer Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa shot a final round 2 – under par 70 to finish in a three way tie for third place on overall 3 – under par 213 in the Betway Big Easy Tour 9 event which concluded at Ebotse Links, Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa on Thursday.
Playing in his first event of the New Year, Nyamukondiwa carded 72, 71 and 70 in the 54 holes tournament to mark his arrival on the professional circuit.
The 24 year old golfer turned professional in August last year following the completion of his studies at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania a couple of months earlier.
In the Zimbabwe Amateur Championship, his final event as an amateur tied for fourth place behind winner Keegan Shutt, Michael Wallace and Tariro November.

Nyamukondiwa did not disappoint after he received an invite to participate in the Big Easy event which ran from January 14 – 16 producing a performance which could earn him invites to play on the Sunshine Tour.
The event was won by South African Luke Mayo who shot rounds of 68, 70, 71 for a 7 under par 209 winning score while Louis Liebenburg managed 67, 70 75 to finish in second place on 4 – under.
Nyamukondiwa shared third place with amateur golfer Oliver Goldhill and Dillon Gemshuys after they made 3 – under par for the tournament.
The Big Easy Tour, currently titled as the Betway Big Easy Tour, is a developmental golf tour based in South Africa, founded in 2011.
It is a developmental tour for the Sunshine Tour.
The top ten players earn Sunshine Tour cards, with those 11th–30th earning entry into the final stage of Sunshine Tour qualifying school.
The tour is named after the nickname of South African golf legend Ernie Els.
