Zimbabwe’s top golfer Scott Vincent has praised the overwhelming support from fans during his impressive showing at the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa event currently underway in Johannesburg.

Competing at the prestigious Steyn City course, Vincent heads into the final round tied for 15th place on 13-under-par 200, following consistent rounds of 66, 68, and 66.

The Zimbabwean star has been one of the standout African performers at the tournament and says the crowd support has played a huge role in motivating him.

“It’s been amazing,” said Vincent. “Every fairway people are cheering for me and yelling ‘Zimbo’ for Zimbabwe. Loving it. The support is unreal. I wish I could have more events like this.”

The historic tournament marks the first time a LIV Golf event has been staged on African soil, drawing massive interest across the continent. Organisers have confirmed the event is sold out, with over 100,000 spectators expected to attend across the four days — a clear indication of golf’s growing popularity in Africa.

At the top of the leaderboard, American powerhouse Bryson DeChambeau continues to dominate after delivering a spectacular third-round performance. DeChambeau fired a 7-under-par 64, highlighted by two eagles, to reach 21-under overall.

He currently leads by two shots ahead of South Africa’s Branden Grace, setting up an exciting final round showdown.

Zimbabwe-born South African golfer Dean Burmester has emerged as a fan favourite at the LIV Golf South Africa and remains firmly in contention heading into the final round, sitting tied for fifth place on 17-under par.

For Zimbabwean golf fans, Vincent’s performance remains a major highlight, as he flies the national flag high on one of the sport’s biggest emerging stages.
