Inform teenage golfer Keegan Shutt reclaimed the Zimbabwe Amateur Championship title with a dominant display after shooting a final round 72 to finish the three-day event on overall 6 – under par 282 at Chapman Golf Club on Sunday.
Shutt, who won the tournament in 2022 before losing it to Michael Wallace last year, shot rounds of 73 69 68 and 72 to win his third competition this month by nine strokes.
The 18-year-old golfer began the month with an dominant display in the Chapman Grand Slam before bagging the Champion of Champions gong in Bulawayo last weekend.
This is Shutt’s fourth win of the season after he won the Royal Harare club championships in May.
Shutt was delighted to win the Zim Amateur again.
“I am happy to win this one because I think it’s biggest tournament in Zimbabwe on the amatuer circuit and I am excited to win it. I think my irons were really good in this tournament and I didn’t miss too many greens so that gave me a lots of chances for a birdie. My tee shots were awful on the first day but I managed to sort it out and I was looking good,” he said.

Defending champion Wallace was a distant second after carding 73 74 73 and 71 to finish nine shots behind the winner.
First round leader Tariro November who is currently based in the US was third despite finishing the tournament strong with a 3 3-under par 69 in the final round.
After shooting level par 72 on the first day, November struggled a bit on the second day where he managed 76 and 76 to lose his place on top of the leaderboard.
He eventually finished on 4 – over par 292 and 10 shots behind Shutt.
Tafadzwa Nyamukondiwa, who recently completed his studies in the US, finished in a tie for fourth along with Wingate’s Shepherd Chiwaya after grossing 299.
US-based Margret Nyamukondiwa won the ladies competition with a brilliant final round 70 for a 305 gross total to beat nearest rival Danielle Bekker to the title by three shots.
Nyamukondiwa and Bekker went into the final round with nothing to separate them but the latter managed 73 in the last round.
Only four ladies took part in the competition with another US-based golfer Primrose Chikwaya finishing third with a gross total of 327 while Listia Bangura was fourth after grossing 370.
The event is the premier competition on the country’s amateur circuit.
