Glasgow – The Zimbabwe Gems produced a spirited comeback to overturn an early deficit and secure a convincing 49–39 victory over Namibia in their Celtic Cup encounter at the Emirates Arena on Friday.
Zimbabwe trailed by three goals after the first quarter but responded with composure and dominance in the remaining periods to record their second win of the tournament. The result comes as a major confidence boost after their 56–42 defeat to Wales on Thursday.
The Gems began their campaign on a positive note with a strong 57–40 win against Northern Ireland on Wednesday, setting the tone for their competitive showing in Glasgow.
Next, Zimbabwe will face one of the tournament favourites, the Uganda Cranes, in a highly anticipated fixture scheduled for Saturday at 17:00 (Zimbabwean time).
