Paris Olympic Games finalist Makanakaishe Charamba has signed an NIL deal with global sportswear giant Adidas, marking a significant milestone in his rising career.
The US-based sprinter announced the news on social media, writing: “Beyond excited to officially announce that I’ve signed an NIL deal with adidas! This wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support from my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who’s been in my corner. Thank you for believing in me — the journey is just getting started.”

While the specific terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, NIL deals typically allow athletes to promote brands through social media, advertising campaigns, and public appearances in exchange for financial compensation, branded merchandise, or other benefits.
In Adidas’ case, this often involves brand ambassadorship roles and participation in select marketing initiatives, especially among collegiate and up-and-coming athletes.
Charamba ’s partnership with Adidas comes on the heels of his impressive debut at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he represented Zimbabwe in the men’s 200m.
Though he missed out on a podium finish, Charamba and his compatriot Tapiwanashe Makarawu captured global attention reaching the final.
The Auburn University star has carried on from his impressive debut by winning the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships 200m title.
Charamba recently ran 19.99 in the 200m in Florida in his first outdoor race of the season.
