Scott Vincent carded a four-under par 68 to sit one shot behind the lead after the opening round of the LIV Golf Miami at Trump National Doral on Friday.
Vincent shot five birdies with just one blemish on his card as he made a solid start in his bid for a maiden win on the lucrative LIV circuit.
The 31-year-old golf star, who is affectionately known as Mhondoro in Zimbabwean golf circles is one of four players at 4-under 68 – along with Americans Bubba Watson and Matthew Wolff as well as Zimbabwe-born South African Dean Burmester.

Sergio Garcia of Spain shot a bogey-free, 5-under 67 to grab a share of the lead with Americans Talor Gooch and Peter Uihlein.
Meanwhile Scott Vincent produced the lowest round of the day for his team Iron Heads GC, who finished the opening round tied for seventh position on the team standings.

His brother Kieran, who is part of the Legion XIII team endured a rollercoaster day following a level par round of 70 which featured four birdies and as many bogeys.
The 26-year-old rising Zimbabwean star, who has already tasted success with his team on his LIV debut in Mexico early this season will start the second round tied for position 25 while his Legion XIII team is well placed in second place.
RangeGoats GC earned a healthy lead in the team competition as Uihlein’s 67 combined with the 68s from Wolff and captain Watson.
At 13 under, they’re five shots ahead of Jon Rahm’s Legion XIII.
Rahm, the defending Masters champion, opened his week with a 3-under 69, part of a large tie for eighth that includes fellow major champions Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed.
