Zimbabwean midfielder Panashe Makwiramiti has secured his future at Haverfordwest County AFC after signing a new one-year contract extension following a standout debut season in Wales.
The 23-year-old joined the Bluebirds ahead of the 2025/26 campaign and has quickly established himself as a key figure in midfield. Makwiramiti has made 26 appearances across all competitions, earning praise for his high-energy performances and consistency throughout the season.
His contributions have played a vital role in helping Haverfordwest County secure a fourth appearance in the JD Cymru Premier European play-offs, after finishing top of the Play-Off Conference.
Makwiramiti’s impressive club form has also translated onto the international stage. The Zimbabwean midfielder received his first senior call-up to the Zimbabwe national football team last month, featuring in the Four Nations International Tournament, which Zimbabwe went on to win.
The past week has been particularly memorable for the rising star. Makwiramiti scored his first goal for the club in a dominant 6-0 victory over Llanelli Town, capping off a strong run of performances as the season approaches its conclusion.
Haverfordwest County manager Tony Pennock praised the midfielder’s impact both on and off the pitch.
“Pan has become an extremely popular member of our squad,” said Pennock. “He has shown a great attitude to living away from home as well as performing at a consistent level throughout the season.
“He has worked hard at his game, culminating in his recent call-up to the Zimbabwe national squad. We are all proud of his international recognition and look forward to seeing him continue as a Bluebird.”
Makwiramiti expressed his delight after committing his future to the club, highlighting his desire to keep improving.
“I’m delighted to have signed a new deal with the club,” he said. “I’ve really enjoyed my first year here, and I’m grateful for the trust shown in me.
“I’m hungry to keep improving and look forward to continuing my development while contributing to the team’s progress.”
With his future now secured, Makwiramiti will be aiming to finish the season strongly before turning his focus to building on his success in a second campaign with the Bluebirds.
