United States-based golfer Keegan Shutt claimed his third Zimbabwe Amateur Championship title on Sunday, producing a dominant finish to secure a five-shot victory at Chapman Golf Club and book his place in the 2027 Zimbabwe Open.

The Odessa College golfer recovered from a slow start to card rounds of 78, 77, 68 and 71, finishing the 72-hole championship on six-over-par 294 to add the 2026 crown to his previous triumphs in 2022 and 2024.

His latest success caps an impressive spell back home after he also won the Chapman Grand Slam title last month.

Shutt finished five shots clear of Vincent Chidambazina and Munesu Chimhini, who shared second place on 299, while 14-year-old Nathaniel Zidya continued his rise with an impressive fourth-place finish on 302.

Zambia’s Gilbert Chalwe completed the top five on 304.

Speaking after securing the title, Shutt said winning Zimbabwe’s premier amateur event remained a special achievement.

“It’s big. I know it’s definitely the biggest tournament we have in the calendar year. So for me to have come out on top against the rest of the Zimbabwe amateurs, I was quite proud of myself.”

In the women’s competition, Mariam Masiya claimed her maiden Zimbabwe Amateur Championship title after finishing on 18-over-par, with Listiah Bangura taking the runner-up spot.

This year’s championship attracted a record international field, with players from seven countries competing, underlining the growing stature of Zimbabwe’s flagship amateur golf tournament.
