The long-simmering feud between Zimbabwean mixed martial arts powerhouse Elvis “Bomber” Moyo and his arch-rival Matunga “HHH Power” Djikasa from the Democratic Republic of Congo is set to reach its boiling point.
EFC Worldwide has officially confirmed that the two heavyweights will clash for the EFC Heavyweight Championship at EFC 127 on September 11, 2025, in the WSB EFC Arena in Sandton, South Africa.
This highly anticipated bout will serve as the main event, headlining a night of top-tier combat sports action.
The showdown has been a dream matchup for many fans, given the well-documented animosity and personal history between the two fighters.
The rivalry intensified back in April, the very night Moyo captured the heavyweight title.
Following his championship victory, Djikasa, a former EFC titleholder himself, stormed the cage to issue a direct and impassioned challenge.
The tense face-off that ensued reignited years of bad blood and set the stage for what is now one of the most significant title fights in recent EFC history.
Moyo, never one to back down from a challenge, accepted on the spot.
Speaking on the moment he took the challenge, Moyo was quoted as saying,
“This fight is personal. There’s been bad blood between us for a long time, and now I finally get the chance to settle it in the cage. I’m not just fighting to defend my belt—I’m fighting to prove a point.”
This bitter feud traces its origins back nearly two years, with a scheduled bare-knuckle “umbhaka” brawl in 2023 that was ultimately canceled.
However, the deepest roots of their animosity stem from a 2022 incident where Djikasa brutally knocked out Moyo’s training partner and protégé, Vandam Mbuyi.
After the fight, Djikasa taunted Moyo from across the cage, shouting insults and pounding the cage, a moment that went viral and required security to intervene as an enraged Moyo attempted to confront him.
“He crossed a line when he went after my fighter,” Moyo said of the incident. “That wasn’t just disrespect—it was personal. I’m going to make sure he pays for it when we meet.”
With the bout now officially confirmed, Moyo took to his Facebook page to share the news with his fans.
Posting a picture of the fight confirmation, he wrote, “Here we goooo… ONLY A few can understand.”
For Moyo, known for his devastating knockout power and cool composure, this is more than just a title defense; it’s an opportunity to avenge his protégé and cement his legacy.
“I’ve faced world-class opponents before. Djikasa might be tough, but he’s not unbeatable. I’m stronger, smarter, and hungrier than ever,” he stated.
Moyo will be heading into this bout with the added support of new sponsors, including Zimbabwean company Betterbrands.
For Djikasa, a victory would be a shot at redemption and a triumphant return to the top of the heavyweight division.
As the countdown to September 11 begins, the EFC Hexagon will be the stage for the explosive conclusion of one of African MMA’s most personal and intense rivalries.
Fans can expect fireworks as these two heavyweights finally settle their scores.
