The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has come down hard on Dynamos FC and their head coach Saul Chaminuka, banning the coach from the technical bench for two games and imposing hefty fines on the club following the abandonment of their match against FC Platinum last month.
In a separate ruling, Chicken Inn FC and player George Majika also faced disciplinary action for a separate incident of match abandonment.
The PSL Disciplinary Committee, in a statement released today, confirmed that Dynamos FC was found guilty of causing the abandonment of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium on June 22, 2025.
As a result, the Glamour Boys have been fined US$5,000, and FC Platinum has been awarded the match with a 3-0 scoreline.
Further compounding Dynamos’ woes, Head Coach Saul Chaminuka was held directly responsible for his conduct during the ill-fated match.
He has been fined US$4,000 and, crucially, banned from occupying the technical bench for the club’s next two matches.
This disciplinary action casts a darker shadow over Dynamos’ already precarious position in the league.
The Harare giants are currently battling against relegation, sitting in 17th place with a mere 15 points from 21 matches played.
With only 12 games remaining in the season, these penalties significantly hinder their fight for survival in the top flight.
In another ruling, Chicken Inn FC and their player, George Majika, were also found guilty following the abandonment of their match against Scottland FC played at Rufaro Stadium on May 23, 2025.
Chicken Inn FC was slapped with a US5,000 fine, and the match was awarded to Scottland FC on a 3-0 scoreline.
George Majika, for his role in the incident, received a US1,000 fine.
“The PSL reminds all clubs, players, and officials of their obligation to uphold the league’s rules and regulations,” read the stern statement from the Premier Soccer League. “Any actions that disrupt fixtures, undermine the integrity of the competition, or bring the game into disrepute will not be tolerated.”
The PSL’s firm stance underscores its commitment to maintaining order and professionalism within the league, sending a clear message that misconduct will be met with stringent penalties.
For Dynamos, the immediate challenge will be to navigate their upcoming fixtures without their head coach, as they desperately seek to pull themselves out of the relegation mire.
