World Sports Xchange (WSX), the agency representing Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani, has strongly condemned what it described as “vile hatred” directed at the player on social media while insisting he did not breach any contract with the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

“Due to the voluminous and disgusting nature of criticism directed at Blessing via social media, I will no longer stay silent,” the statement said.

WSX also criticised those sending abusive messages to Muzarabani, stating: “To the so-called ‘fans’ that fill his social media DM’s with vile hatred, you are an utter disgrace to humanity and you are cowards.”

The agency further rejected claims that Muzarabani had breached an agreement with the PSL or Islamabad United, insisting: “You simply cannot breach a contract you have never received.”

In a strongly worded statement, WSX said it had chosen to remain silent for six weeks in order to avoid escalating tensions with the PSL and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

However, the agency said it could no longer ignore the abuse being directed at Muzarabani online.

“Due to the voluminous and disgusting nature of criticism directed at Blessing via social media, I will no longer stay silent,” the statement said.

WSX also condemned those sending hateful messages to the Zimbabwean fast bowler, adding: “To the so-called ‘fans’ that fill his social media DM’s with vile hatred, you are an utter disgrace to humanity and you are cowards.” However, the agency said the level of criticism directed at Muzarabani on social media had become too severe to ignore.

According to WSX, Muzarabani was approached by Islamabad United on 13 February 2026 regarding a playing opportunity in the PSL. The agency said an agreement was reached, but it was subject to the player obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Zimbabwe Cricket.

WSX argued that obtaining an NOC would not have been possible without first receiving a formal contract from the PSL or Islamabad United.

The agency claims that while Islamabad United and the PSL publicly announced Muzarabani’s signing on social media, no formal contract was provided to the player.

By 27 February 2026, WSX says Muzarabani had still not received a contract from the PSL or Islamabad United. During that period, the agency said Muzarabani received an approach from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), leading to a separate agreement being concluded.

WSX emphasised that Muzarabani was not drafted through the PSL auction process and was never provided with a contract of employment from the league.

The statement said: “Blessing was not drafted in the auction and was not provided with a contract of employment from the PSL.”

The agency strongly rejected suggestions that the Zimbabwean pacer had breached any agreement or contract, despite allegations surrounding his withdrawal from the PSL.

According to WSX, Muzarabani never received a formal contract from either the PSL or Islamabad United before accepting an approach from Kolkata Knight Riders.

The statement stressed that any agreement with Islamabad United was always “subject to obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Zimbabwe Cricket,” and that such an NOC could not be obtained without a signed contract from the PSL.

WSX therefore insisted that the player could not have breached a contract that was never issued.

“You simply cannot breach a contract you have never received,” the statement said.

The agency also argued that any potential ban by the PSL would be “incredibly excessive” and unfair given that other players who had breached contracts in the past had not faced the same level of punishment or public criticism.

WSX also criticised the possibility of any ban being imposed on Muzarabani, describing such a punishment as excessive and inconsistent with sanctions handed to players who had previously breached contracts.

The statement further highlighted the emotional toll the situation has taken, with the agency condemning abusive messages sent to Muzarabani through social media.

WSX described Muzarabani as a player who values supporters and regularly engages with fans around the world.

“Blessing loves the fans. Everywhere he goes he engages with the public and is generous with his time for the fans,” the statement read. The agency said it had watched him grow into not only a world-class cricketer, but also an exceptional individual.

In conclusion, WSX called on the PSL to withdraw any ban and accept responsibility for what it described as an administrative error. The agency also stressed that it holds no grudge against either the PSL or Islamabad United despite the dispute.
