Zimbabwean golfer Scott Vincent secured a strong third-place finish at the Japan Players Championship by Satosyokuhin on Sunday.
Vincent carded an impressive 21-under-par 263 at the Nishinasuno Country Club, finishing just two shots behind the winner, local favorite Tatsunori Shogenji.
The 33-year old Zimbabwean’s performance on the Japan Golf Tour included rounds of 67, 69, 63, and 64, earning him a significant top-five placement.
For his efforts over the four-day tournament, Vincent, who recently made his debut at the US Open Championship, took home ¥3,400,000 (approximately US$23,600).
Shogenji clinched his second JGTO title, denying compatriot Ryuichi Oiwa the top spot.
Shogenji’s final round of six-under-par 65 was just enough to secure a one-shot victory with a winning total of 23-under-par 261.
This win marks a return to the winner’s circle for the 27-year-old, following his breakthrough at the season-opening Token Homemate Cup in April.
Oiwa’s superb 62 in the final round earned him outright second place, while Tomohiro Ishizaka, who had led after the second and third rounds, finished fourth with a 20-under-par total after a final round 69.
